Abstract: A simple and efficient method for the synthesis of quinoxalines derivatives has been developed. All the reactions were carried out in presence of niobium (V) chloride at acetonitrile reflux conditions. The method is applicable to a variety of diketones and 1, 2-phenylenediamines to afford the corresponding derivatives in excellent yields.
