Abstract

Adnexal masses constitute a common clinical practice. Accurate diagnosis is essential for optimal management. Ultrasound is considered as first-line imaging technique for differential diagnosis between benign and malignant adnexal tumors. However, limitations still exist. New technologies may provide additional information. Three-dimensional ultrasound is a relatively new technique that is being increasingly used in gynecological sonography. In this chapter current knowledge about using threedimensional ultrasound for discriminating benign from malignant adnexal tumors will be reviewed and discussed.
