Abstract

This chapter helps to dispel some of the myths surrounding fertility
treatment and to provide some hopefully welcome advice. It covers the excellent,
reliable advice which may be provided by healthcare professionals along with some not
so good advice (positive and negative) which may be very disruptive to the overall
mood of all fertility. This can result in creating either false hope or false gloom and
both of these are potentially very damaging. Advice should be factual, truthful, honest
and based on the best information available. Any other forms of advice just cause
worry, stress and even potentially depression. Fertility patients must be very selective
about the advice they seek and view it all with a critical and well-informed eye.
