Abstract
Regardless of continents, prostate cancer is on top list for most prevalent cancer in men. With the emergence of new diagnostic approaches, the challenges in the staging and detection accuracy of this cancer would promise a better management strategy to patients; preventing futile surgery and unnecessary treatment cost. This review discusses the established clinical diagnostic techniques, from the conventional screening of prostate specific antigen (PSA), ultrasound, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technique to the functional imaging modality; Positron Emission Tomography – Computed Tomography (PET-CT).
