Abstract
The advances in the chemistry of Mannich bases of electron-rich, monocyclic five-membered heterocycles with one heteroatom thiophene and furan are reviewed. The aminomethylation of these heterocycles along with the reactivity and the applications of their Mannich bases are summarized.
