Publishes original research articles, letters, reviews/mini-reviews and guest edited thematic issues in all areas of agricultural science. 

The Agricultural Sciences section of the journal Current Chinese Science publishes original research articles, letters, reviews/mini-reviews and guest edited thematic issues in all areas of agricultural science. 

This section is not limited to a specific aspect of the field but is instead devoted to a wide range of sub-fields in the area. Articles of a multidisciplinary nature are particularly welcome. Submissions in the following areas of agricultural sciences are of special interest to the readers of this journal:

Dr. Tian Liu is a professor at Dalian University of Technology (DUT), China. He received his Bachelor and PhD from DUT in 2003 and 2009, respectively. His research interest is focused on the insect cuticle. He studies the component and formation process of insect cuticle to find new targets and technologies for pest control, to find new inspiration to design biomaterials, and to develop new biocatalysts for the utilization of biological resources. His has published more than 40 papers in reputed international journals.

Dr. Shaowu Xue obtained the doctor degree from Shanxi University in 2005, and did his postdoctoral research at the University of California, San Diego during 2007-2010. He worked at Shanxi University (2002-2013) and moved to Huazhong Agricultural University in 2013. His research interests are signaling transduction and ions transport in plant cells. Recently, he focused on disclosing the biological function of hydrogen sulfide interacting with plant hormones in plant development and stress responses. He has published over 30 papers in reputed journals.

Dr. Zhaowei Zhang received his Bachelor and Master degrees from Wuhan University, China and his Ph.D. degree from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China. After 2010, he worked in the Oil Crops Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, China. He is the Chief Executive Scientist of the innovation team on food safety. He published over 70 peer reviewed papers and obtained over 30 innovation patents in the USA, EU, China, etc. He developed six agricultural process standards in China. His research interests are analytical chemistry in food safety, environment monitoring and healthcare. He produced test strip, test kits for chemical contaminants, such as mycotoxins, heavy metals, and pesticides, which have extensively been applied in China, USA, Italy, and other developing countries.

Dr. Aocheng Cao is a professor at The Institute of Plant Protection, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS). He received his Master's from the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, in 2000 and PhD from the China Agricultural University, in 2006. His research interests include Fumigants, IPM of soil-borne diseases, Application technology of pesticides. Dr. Cao is a chief scientist for the Agricultural Science and Technology Innovation Program of CAAS and The National Key Research and Development Program of China(2017YFD0201600). He is also the chair member of the Branch of Soil Disinfestation, Chinese Society of Agro-Ecological Environment Protection. Dr. Cao has published 40 national patents and more than 100 papers in various journals of repute.

He has published 114 (Book 2; Book Chapters 20, Review Papers 13, Papers in conference Proceedings 6; Research Papers published 59, Articles/reports/book reviews) in distinguished journals.

Dr. Hong-Wei Xiao is a professor and a Ph.D. supervisor of the College of Engineering in China Agricultural University (CAU). Dr. Xiao's research focuses on developing innovative processing technologies and equipment for agricultural products and food, particularly in drying, blanching and osmotic dehydration processing operations. Dr. Xiao has published more than 150 papers in prestigious journals, such as Nature, Trends in Food Science and Technology, Annual Review of Food Science and Technology, Critical Reviews in Food Science and Nutrition, Carbohydrate Polymers, Food Chemistry, Journal of Food Engineering, Drying Technology, Innovative Food Science and Emerging Technologies, etc. His works have been cited more than 5000 times with h-index- 40 according to Google scholar citations statistics. In addition, he has published 2 books and 11 book chapters, and obtained more than 30 Chinese licensed patents. He is one of the associate editors of Drying Technology, and is an editorial board member of several international journals. Dr. Xiao was awarded first prize in science and technology at provincial and ministerial level as the second contributor, and the Excellent Food Drying Research Award in recognition of the excellent research in the food drying area.

Dr. Zhiqiang Lu obtained his Ph.D in Entomology with focus on insect prophenoloxidase pathway activation and regulation from Oklahoma State University 2007, and joined Dr. Michael Strand’s group in University of Georgia as a postdoctoral scientist working on immune interaction between parasitoid wasp and host insect. In 2009, Dr. Lu settled in Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University in China studying silkworm, aphid and wasp physiology and immunology. His current research interests include nutrition immunology, interaction between immunity and development of insects.

Prof. Gyana R. Rout is working as Prof. & Head at the Department of Agricultural Biotechnology, College of Agriculture, Odisha University of Agriculture & Technology, Bhubaneswar, India and is focusing his research on plant stress physiology and biotechnology. He has identified the ATP binding cassette (ABC) transporter gene family in Indica rice genotypes for aluminum tolerance a limiting factor for rice productivity in acid soils. He has published over 220 research papers and 22 book chapters in International and National Journals of reputes. He edited two books i.e. "Molecular Stress Physiology of Plant" and and "Genetic Engineering of Horticultural Crops". Currently, he is working as Principal Investigator and Coordinator on Indo-UK project entitled “An integrated genomics/genetics approach for development of mungbean varieties with improved disease resistance” in the area of “Pulses and Oilseeds Research Initiative”.

Dr. Gill is working in field of genomics (including the genome wide association studies), whole genome duplication and polyploids in oil rich crop Brassica napus. Previously, he did research in the areas of plant stress physiology and functional genomics.

Yongliang Liu is a research scientist at Cotton Structure & Quality Research Unit, Agricultural Research Service (ARS), U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). He has expertise in applying a number of rapid and non-destructive analytical techniques covering visible, near infrared (NIR), infrared (IR) and Raman region for qualitative and quantitative inspection of agricultural/food safety and quality. He has published more than 90 peer-reviewed papers.

Dr. Xiaoling Tan is currently a full-time associate professor at the Institute of Plant Protection,Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. She is also a member of the China Biological Control Committee of the Chinese Entomological Society. Her research focuses on the response of different trophic levels of crop systems on climate warming and the ecological regulation of crop pests. She hosted the National Natural Science Foundation of China; Project of National Key R&D Program of China; and the project of EU-China International Cooperation and so on. She has published more than 40 high-level articles in related journals. She has been awarded the second prize of the Science and Technology Award of Plant Protection Society in 2020. She is the review editor of Frontiers in Physiology, Frontiers in Ecology and Evolution and other SCI journals.

He was awarded the Young Teacher Award by Fok Ying Tung Education Foundation of the Ministry of Education in 2018, and published more than 30 papers in reputed international journals.
