She is the first female Nephrologist and Internist in UAE. He has an experience in leading a project, centralized HER-2 retesting program, in Korea and in global clinical trial of lung cancer with ROS1 translocation. His main interest is in applying molecular pathology test using next generation sequencing (NGS) technology.

Mohamed B Abdelraheem Elfakky MD, FRCP, is a consultant of pediatric nephrology at Al Qassimi Women and Children's Hospital, Ministry of Health, Sharjah, UAE. He is also an adjunct Ass. Professor of pediatrics at the faculty of medicine, Sharjah University. Mohamed completed his MD in pediatrics and child health from the University of Khartoum. He did training in pediatric nephrology from Sheffield and Nottingham, UK, where he obtained his Master’s degree in medical science in nephrology and was also awarded the International Society of Peritoneal Dialysis ISPD fellowship. He worked previously at the University of Khartoum and Soba University Hospital, Khartoum, Sudan, where he, with other colleagues, established the 1st pediatric nephrology unit. He then joined the multi-organ transplant centre, King Fahad Specialist Hospital, Dammam, Saudi Arabia, for 2 years. He also worked at Al Jalila Children's Speciality Hospital, Dubai, before his current job at Al Qassimi Women and Children's Hospital, Ministry of Health, UAE. He is a member of the International Pediatric Nephrology Association (IPNA), the European Society of Pediatric Nephrology (ESPN), and the African Pediatric Nephrology Association (AFPNA). He published more than 28 research papers and contributed to chapters in textbooks and Acute Kidney Injury AKI, ISPD guidelines. Mohamed also participated in many regional and international meetings, including lectures, workshops, and seminars. In 2015, he was awarded the FRCP by the Royal College of Physicians for his significant contribution to pediatric nephrology in his country and developing African countries.

Professor Wael is a Full Professor of Molecular Pathology at the College of Health Sciences, University of Sharjah. He has been the coordinator of the MSc/PhD program in Molecular Medicine for 7 years. He is a board member of high impact scientific journals and acts as a chair or member in many research awards, grants and faculty promotion committees. Altogether, he has more than 30 years of work experience and 60 scientific articles and critical reviews on the genetics of colorectal, breast, and other cancers (H Index: 29, total citations: 2632). He has received more than 10 awards and 35 grants. His PhD work was carried out at Edinburgh and Cambridge Universities, UK (1997-2001), during which he identified a novel molecular cytogenetic profile in colorectal cancers. At the Department of Medical Genetics, University of Helsinki, Finland (2002-2007), he directed his efforts to the study and diagnosis of familial cancers and contributed to seminal discoveries in this field. Currently, his research at the University of Sharjah aims to understand the causes and mechanisms of cancer development in the region and the resistance of cancer cells to therapy; with a focus on the role of environmental pollutants and obesity in carcinogenesis.

Dr. Khaled Abuhaleeqa, MD, FRCSC, is presently serving as the Chief of Service at the Department of Ophthalmology Sheikh Shakhboot Medical City- Abu Dhabi, UAE (the largest Health Facility in the Country). He is a Board Certified and Fellowship Trained Consultant Ophthalmologist, specialized in plastic ophthalmic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Abuhamdah has published more than 40 original research articles in peer-reviewed journals and participated in the preparation of many symposium abstracts in the field of pharmacology. Dr. Abuhamdah is a member of the British Pharmacological Society (BPS), British Neuroscience Association (BNA), American Society of Neuroscience (SFN), Sigma Phi Sigma Pharmaceutical Sciences Honor Society, USA and she has been serving as a regular reviewer for several medical journals, different funding agency and an editorial board member of reputable pharmaceutical journals. Prof. Suhad S. Abumweis holds a Ph.D. degree in Human Nutrition from McGill University (Montreal, Canada). She has worked in the Department of Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics at the Hashemite University since 2008. Currently, she is the director of the Nutrition and Dietetics program at Al Ain University, UAE. Her teaching interests are in nutritional assessment and medical nutrition therapy. Prof. Abumweis has clinical research experience, particularly in the area of functional foods and lipid metabolism. She has a good knowledge of strengths, limitations, and areas of potential improvement in human nutrition trials. In addition, she is conducting meta-analysis research on dietary interventions to reduce risk factors for chronic diseases. Prof. Abumweis has published 40 peer-reviewed research articles. Her work has been cited by regulatory authorities including the United State Food and Drug Administration, Health Canada, and the European Food Safety Authority. Her research interests are lipid metabolism, functional foods, nutraceuticals, health claims, evidence-based medical nutrition therapy, systematic reviews, and meta-analysis.

Prof. Aburuz is the Professor of Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacotherapy at the College of Medicine at UAEU. He is currently the PharmD Program Director at the College of Medicine. He earned his PhD in Pharmacotherapy and Clinical Pharmacy from the School of Pharmacy, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Queens University Belfast, The United Kingdom, 2003. Prof. Aburuz held many administrative positions during his 18 years of academic and clinical carrier, including director, head of department, assistant dean, and vice dean. The main aims of his research and practice are to promote evidence-based medication use and prescribing to improve disease control and health-related quality of life of patients with chronic diseases. Prof. Aburuz has more than 70 publications in scientific international journals in the fields of Medicine and Clinical Pharmacy. Professor Aburuz has been awarded the distinguished researcher award four times. He supervised more than 30 research projects for PharmD, Master, and PhD students. Prof. Aburuz has developed and established clinical pharmacy services at the University of Jordan Hospital and also at Ibn Alhaythem hospital in Amman, Jordan. He has served as a clinical pharmacist and head of clinical pharmacy service for more than 10 years. He also served as a consultant for the Jordanian FDA in several committees, such as the clinical studies committee and Bioequivalence committee.

Dr. Khawla M. Belhoul is a Fellow of The Royal College of Physicians UK, a consultant hematologist with extensive experience in benign hematology at Dubai Health Authority. She is also an Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor at the College of Medicine MBRU and Director of hematology fellowship program at DHA. Her clinical and research interests focus on hemoglobinopathies. Under her leadership, the Thalassemia Center received the DHA Best Customer satisfaction award in 2017, the Arab Health Award of Excellence in Patient Centered Care, Sheikh Sultan National Award of center of excellence in patient care in 2013, and the best research team award in DHA in 2016. She played a vital role in the establishment of emirates society of hematology and in the initiation of the emirates hematology conference and PATH conference.

Dr Egred is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at the Freeman Hospital and Honorary Senior Lecturer at Newcastle University, UK. He is the author of three books, which were co-edited by Professor M Izham Mohamed Ibrahim from Qatar University and Professor Albert Wertheimer from College of Pharmacy, Nova SE University, US. Those books are “Pharmacy Practice in Developing Countries: Achievements and Challenges” (published in 2016 by Academic Press an imprint of Elsevier Science), "Pharmacy Education in the Twenty First Century and Beyond: Global Achievements and Challenges" (published in 2018 by Academic Press an imprint of Elsevier Science), and “Medical Devices for Pharmacy and Other HealthCare Professions” (published this year i.e. 2022 by CRC, Taylor and Francis Group). Ahmed Fathelrahman is a reviewer for a variety of international journals related to Pharmacy, Public Health, Tobacco Control and Toxicology and he acted as a member of review committees for a couple of international scientific meetings organized by the International Society of Pharmacoeconomics & Outcomes Research (ISPOR) and the Society for Research on Nicotine & Tobacco (SRNT). I received my Ph.D. from Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu, in 2015, where I studied the cardioprotective effects of natural sesquiterpene thymol in the animal models of myocardial infarction in the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology with Dr. P. Selvaraj. Then, I moved to the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics, College of Medicine and Health Sciences, United Arab Emirates University, Al Ain, the United Arab Emirates as a Post Doctoral Research Associate in Prof. Shreesh Ojha Lab (2016-present). Our research focuses on the effect of naturally derived and synthetic compounds and their mode of action and effective mechanisms at the molecular levels of cardiovascular, kidney, liver, and brain-related complications. My other objective is to identify new targets for discovering improved therapies to treat myocardial ischemia, neurodegenerative diseases, and chemotherapy-related complications.

From 2011, as a Clinical Assistant Professor in Pathology Department at SNU Bundang Hospital, her research and clinical activity is focused on endocrine, bone/soft tissue pathology, immunology and molecular pathology. She has worked at Sheikh Khalifa Specialty Hospital, pathology department from 2015 in which genetic test on solid tumor using next generation sequencing was implemented successfully under supervision of Dr. Park. His research work has been focused on the non-invasive techniques of diagnosis and treatment of Bladder Cancer published in highly ranked international peer reviewed journals. He published his first work conducted in vivo aiming at the use of HexvixÒ (Hexyl-aminolevulinate - hALA) as a pro-drug, a precursor of the Protoporphyrin IX (PpIX) mediating the Photodynamic treatment of bladder cancer in rats. His additional works are focused on the photodynamic diagnosis and the photobleaching kinetics of Hexvix-induced PpIX was also conducted. Dr. El Khatib is currently working on many topics related to Molecular Biotechnology & Genome Editing Strategies. He is also supervising many Master's students working on health benefits of food, food extracts, and fortification strategies. Dr. El Khatib has authored and co-authored numerous conference articles, books, book chapters in the aforementioned scientific topics. Dr. El Khatib is a member of the Middle East Molecular Biology Society, a member of MEMBS International Advisory Committee.
