Introduction

The thematic issue "Recent Advances in the Biological Nanomaterials-Based Treatment of Neurological Disorders" addresses innovative uses of plant and microorganism-derived biological nanomaterials to treat neurological diseases like Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, stroke, and glioblastoma, which are becoming increasingly important medically and scientifically. Nanomaterials from plants, microorganisms, peptides, proteins, polysaccharides, and exosomes are developed, characterized, and tested for therapeutic use. These materials' biocompatibility, bioactivity, and targeted delivery make them potential options for treating complicated neurological illnesses like Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, epilepsy, and multiple sclerosis. Given the increased prevalence of neurological diseases worldwide, which burden healthcare systems and individuals' quality of life, the topic is important. Traditional treatments often have systemic side effects, inadequate blood-brain barrier drug distribution, and low efficacy. Biological nanomaterials offer a cutting-edge solution by targeting brain regions, modulating pathogenic processes, and enabling personalized therapy. As shown in this issue, nanotechnology, molecular biology, and neurology have combined to generate new treatment approaches. It also handles large-scale production, safety evaluation, and regulatory barriers, enabling future clinical uses.
