纳米颗粒是最常用的成像或给药系统之一。外泌体是一种纳米囊状载体,用于细胞间通信运输物质。这些纳米囊泡与一些主要疾病的病理有关,某些情况下在这些疾病的进展中起着核心作用。利用这些载体运输治疗药物是治疗癌症和阿尔茨海默病等疾病的一种最近和有前景的方法。这些结构的生理产生是有限的,损害了其收集和随后的纯化。这些缺点激发了对模仿替代品的研究。从植物中收集类外泌体纳米颗粒可能是一个不错的选择,因为它们更容易提取,而且没有在动物细胞中产生的那种缺陷。无论是天然的还是人工合成的类外泌体纳米颗粒,都是目前最有前景的、生物相容性好的、高效的给药系统。
