Abstract: Apoptosis plays a major role in homeostasis as well as proliferation and differentiation. The important role of epithelial and endothelial cell apoptosis in lung injury and repair has been demonstrated. Modulating signaling molecules of apoptosis may be effective treatment against lung injury.
