Abstract:Background: In the past years, there have been a great number of studies on the preparation,
structure and properties of organic-inorganic polybenzoxazine nanocomposites. These studies aimed at
improving the performance of the polybenzoxazine materials;
Objective: In this review, we summarize the recent progress in the studies on organic-inorganic polybenzoxazine
nanocomposites, to give a clear clue of the studies on this topic.
Method and Results: Preparation, characterization and correlation of morphologies with thermomechanical
properties of organic-inorganic polybenzoxazine nanocomposites were addressed on the basis
of the types of the nanoreinforcement agents such as layered silicates, polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxanes
(POSS) and other inorganic nano-fillers such as silica, carbon nanotubes and magnetite nanoparticles;
Conclusion: Preparation of the organic-inorganic nanocomposites is an efficient way to improve the
thermomechanical properties of polybenzoxazine thermosets.
