Abstract:This review is a brief but comprehensive overview on the multi-target profile of
oleocanthal, an extra-virgin olive oil (EVOO) phenol corresponding to the (-)-decarboxymethylligstroside
aglycone, speculating about its potential in the prevention and/or treatment of various
diseases, such as neurodegeneration, inflammation and cancer.
