Abstract

A clean and efficient method for the synthesis of chalcones using phosphonium ionic liquid catalyst [PhosILCl] has been described. The method provides several advantages, such as mild reaction conditions, simple work-up procedure, afford high yields and ecofriendly. In addition, the green solvent ionic liquid was recovered and reused several times in subsequent reactions.
