Abstract: An efficient acetylation and tert-butoxycarbonylation (Boc) of carbohydrate derivatives, phenols and amines catalyzed by tetrabutylammonium bromide is reported. The reaction condition is applicable to substrates containing acid and base labile functional groups. In most of the cases yields obtained were excellent.
