Philip Hajduk did his undergraduate work at the University of Illinois - Urbana, where he received a B.S. in Chemistry in 1989. He completed his graduate work under the supervision of Prof. Laura Lerner at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, where he received his Ph.D. in Chemistry in 1993. He then began work as a post-doctoral fellow at Abbott Laboratories under Dr. Stephen Fesik, and was converted to Staff Scientist in 1996. Dr. Hajduk currently heads the NMR-based screening group at Abbott. The research interests of Dr. Hajduk include many aspects of drug discovery and design, with special emphasis on the application of NMR spectroscopy to enable and expedite the process. He was involved in the early development and application of SAR by NMR™ , and continues to investigate the utility of fragment-based approaches to drug discovery. Some recent publications are listed below. Dr. Hajduk currently lives with his wife, Kathleen, and two children, Jason and Allison, in Mundelein, IL.
