Emitter Individual Identification Based on Nonlinearity Analysis of Oscillators

Abstract:

As an important source of device fine feature, Nonlinearity can produce additional modulation on the output signal. For different communication individuals, we established a phase noise model with the influence of both transmitter and receiver based on the study of its characteristics. Using power spectrum of phase noise, the corresponding scattered information entropy was proposed. Two communication devices of the same type can be identified through extracting this feature at different frequency offset combined with Minimum Error Minimax Probability Machine (MEMPM) classifier. Simulation results show that the presented feature can effectively classify two device individuals with stable classification performance.
