Abstract:Aims: The world is worried about the growing population which is leading to a huge rise
in demand for resources that are used in day-to-day life. So research on renewable resources turned
out to be a trend in R&D hubs and universities where many institutes have started workshops to discuss
technology for supporting research at all levels.
Methods: This research work is mainly focused on the exploration of the product with the energy potential
of black liquor and lignocellulosic biomass material through a simplified computational and
experimental approach. For computational purpose, at first, a gasification process modeled in a
chemical process simulator to analyze the energy potential of black liquor at a specific temperature
with one atmospheric pressure condition with estimation of various end-products.
Results: Then a black liquor micro-gasifier is modeled to analyze the performance and energy potential
at conditions of high temperature and one atmospheric pressure in-context of future application
as a renewable energy system.
Conclusion: For experimental purpose, property analysis to the processing of pulp and black liquor
sample has been performed. For literature study, research trends in black liquor and biomass material
have been assessed which will be helpful for future research work.
