Abstract:

Objective and Methods: The investigations of a structure of polyvinyl alcohol doped with ZnCl2, ZnBr2 and ZnI2 were carried out by means of Raman spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction and quantum mechanical calculations.

Results: The formation of inorganic polymeric chains (-X-Zn-)n-X (X = Cl, Br, I) within a hybrid interpolymeric complex with PVA is predicted.
