Carbohydrate arrays are powerful tools to analyze the carbohydrate-mediated recognition events in highthroughput mode. Many methods were used to immobilize carbohydrates on the support surface in the array format. The array-based technology was widely employed to analyze the properties of carbohydrates binding lectins and antibodies, quantitatively measure carbohydrate-protein interactions, detect cells and pathogens, identify disease-related anticarbohydrate antibodies for diagnosis, and fast assess substrate specificities of glycosyltransferases. This review mainly summarized the construction methods of carbohydrate arrays and their applications for recent three years.
